Carpet One Floor & Home in Owensboro, KY is your local tile flooring retailer. When it comes to tile, style and design are almost limitless in your home. You can have tile installed on not just your floors, but also on your walls and on the outside of your home. Our flooring professionals are here to help you choose the perfect tile options for your next home project.
Tiles are made with natural materials like sand, clay, and stone. Tiles are super durable, and are resistant to heat and moisture. Not only that, but tiles are considered a green product for homeowners that are environmentally conscious.
Below, Jim Aaron explains how to choose the perfect tile for your home.
Different Types of Tile
We have three main tile options to choose from including: ceramic, porcelain, and stone.
Both ceramic and porcelain tiles are most commonly seen in homes and businesses. They are both made from the same materials, but because porcelain is heated at a higher temperature it is more durable and water resistant than ceramic. Both types of tile come in an array of colors, styles, and patterns to choose from. Ceramic is a more lightweight option, and is also budget friendly. We also have natural stone options that add a unique and natural look to your home, and when sealed correctly they are resistant to stains and water.
Where can Tile be Installed?
The room in which you plan on installing tile can determine the type of tile you need for your project. Many tile options can work well for your floors, but when it comes to tile on your walls, you want to choose either a ceramic option or backsplash tile. If you choose to install tile outside, choose porcelain or stone because of their water resistance abilities and resistance to heat.
